Mountain View Home

On this Mountain view home we started as a fresh blank lot without any development, which gave us the opportunity to design something special that could become integrated with the natural landscape. Here we created a home that was in touch with the surrounding landscape, to give it a feel like it grew out of the earth. The lower level of the home is a concrete floor with a polished finish and the upstairs is furnished with warm tones, to enhance the natural light which pours in over Steinbeck Country.

We used as many natural materials as we could to give the home a true organic feel. All materials on site were locally provided and custom fabricated by tradesmen in the Carmel Valley. The energy efficiency of this home is great considering that the mechanical system is electric, allowing it to be fully charged on Solar. The insulation is spray foam, which holds in climate the best. An HRV system recharges fresh air into the home continuously, to eliminate the need for reheating or cooling the home.

This home serves as a starting point on how we look forward to building homes for the future: natural materials, high-quality attention to detail, energy efficient, and unique designs that can compliment the surrounding landscapes.
